Yesterday was unfortunately the final day of the Robotics Festival 2023 in Tomar, Portugal. This festival presents a wonderful opportunity for the team to prepare for the World Championship 2023 in Bordeaux, which will take place in about two months. Thanks to the team's hard work, from early mornings to late nights, there have been many new insights gained that will contribute to the upcoming World Championship.
HERO is performing well in this tournament, having earned the most points in the @Home competition. This competition includes three teams: Tech United, LAR, and Socrob, the last two being from Portugal. For @Home, the last day of the festival focusses on improving and redoing challenges.
Today, the TURTLEs are scheduled to play two games. One of the matches is a 4 vs. 4 with LAR's robots as opponents. This is a significant achievement, as this is the first match with four LAR robots, considering they only started in September 2022. The audience is thrilled to witness these matches live and experience the excitement in the arena. The game is followed by a match against a talented girls' team from Tomar, concluded by some penalties.
Both games are live-streamed with live commentary, this can be found on our YouTube channel. Additionally, you can also find a video of HERO acting as a servant, which includes live commentary from one of the developers: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm_tP6eezKCTHANZU94Y2ImsYJ7RXbxgu
The team flew back to Eindhoven this morning, where they will continue their preparations for the World Championships. On to Bordeaux!
