The second day of the world championship was an exciting one. In MSL we had the chance to improve our scores during the second match against every competing team. Especially the match against the Falcons was a good practice for the third round robin that will start tomorrow. The @Home team got the chance to redo the challenges of yesterday and with success! We made it to the second stage in which more complex tasks have to be performed.

Today, the soccer robots played a lot of games against the other teams, in total six matches have been played by the TURTLEs. It were insightful matches, especially in the beginning quite some issues were identified since the games are for a large part used to test new features and to find mistakes in the software. Almost the full team is present and together we have been able to tackle the problems and improve the robots. Watch the day summary here.

@Home

@Home started the day with a retry of the challenges of yesterday. This was the opportunity to improve the scores since the maximum score for a certain challenge counts. In the afternoon, it was time for stage 2. The team has been working hard on the "take out the garbage" challenge. In the final retry we managed to score points by succesfully taking the trash out. We secured our place in stage 2, where we are competing with the top six teams. During this stage new challenges are performed with more complexity, such as cleaning and setting the table. First, cleaning the table was performed and it was pretty successful. We managed to get all dishes in the dish rack and also opened the dishwasher. Next, we tried to set the table but this did not go completely flawlessly since our first two attempts were ended by the referee. The latest attempt was successful since HERO was able to place the board, the bowl, and the fork on the table. However we did not get the position completely right and therefore some points were not given. Other teams also had some trouble, and one of our main competitors even had a lot of bad luck since their robot stopped working. We will see what the two other rounds of stage 2 will bring tomorrow! Tomorrow

For @Home tomorrow will be an intensive day since the last round of stage 2 will determine which of the teams will make it to the finals. Only two teams will make it, and based on the results of yesterday and today it will be a close call. The last two stages of round 2 are the restaurant challengen and the housekeeper challenge. The tasks to perform are things like: find my disk, set the table, clean the table, and serving food and drinks in a totally new environment.

For MSL the third round robin will start. This round will determine which teams will go to the semifinals! Furthermore, MSL has the Scientific Challenge tomorrow in which we will explain a new development about the development of the strategy, more specifically, about making the strategy more explainable through the use of a semantic map that represents the meaningfull places in the model where the ball can be played to.
